Papago Elementary School

The Papago School, built in 1953 and located in central Phoenix, holds a special place in the hearts of this tight-knit community. Generations of families have attended the school, making it a significant project for the Creighton Elementary School District and the community as a whole. The design of the school celebrates the historical context of the place, the people, and the importance of education.
Thematic layers inspired the masterplan and design of the campus, emphasizing collaboration, mentoring, and serendipitous learning. The learning academies promote transparency, fostering a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Spaces within the school environment are designed to be flexible and adaptable.
